Software Test Engineer

As an EEC Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for verifying the operation of new and existing functionality in our weather radar software products. You will work as an integral part of the software team, driving the release process towards the highest quality product. You will work with the team on automated unit and module scripts to expand the range of tests routinely performed, and with our Client Services unit in their support of fielded systems.

Required Education/Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a software tester in a commercial environment
  • Familiarity with Linux/UNIX
  • Proficiency with analyzing system functionality to determine required tests
  • Able to design, write, and review system test plans, customer acceptance tests, and user documentation.

Desired Skills:

  • Coding experience in C, C++, Python, Qt, and bash
  • Ability to design, write, and execute automated unit and module test scripts
  • Use of Squish for GUI testing
  • Knowledge of debugging tools, such as, gdb and valgrind
  • Acquainted with Jenkins or similar continuous integration software
  • Experience with version control systems, such as, git and SVN, and bug/issue tracking software, such as, Helix ALM (formerly TestTrack)
  • Knowledge of DocBook for creating technical documentation
  • Experience with customer-facing duties, such as, support and acceptance tests
  • Understanding of meteorological radar systems/products and hardware

Program Manager

The Program Manager oversees all technical project phases from proposal through product installation. Responsible for providing the centralized planning and control required to meet the cost, schedule, and performance goals throughout the life-cycle of assigned projects. Ensures a continuous line of communication is kept open with the customer to maintain a high level of program status awareness, and provides timely recognition and resolution of problems.

Qualified applicants will have a bachelor’s degree with a focus in project or program management plus 4 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel and Word required. Must also be able to travel 20-30% of the time to domestic and international locations.
